"I wanted to thank you for your suggestions and assistance in finding a place for my Dad. I would not hesitate for one minute recommending your services. I wish to thank you all for your help and appreciate everything you have done."

-- Scott F.

"Thanks for all your support and just listening to me. I do enjoy talking with you. I feel you are truly my friend even though I have never met you."

-- Lois R.

"I wanted to thank you for all of the work you did for me in finding a place for my dad. He’s been at Winterhaven for over a week now and we are thrilled with the facility. Carrie has bent over backwards to make the transition as smooth as it possibly could be. My dad is adjusting. It is not easy for any of us – as you know – but at least we know that he is safe, secure and being taken care of. If you ever need a reference for A Place for Mom or for yourself personally, call on me. Your calmness, your efficiency and your manner of professionalism mixed with personal compassion was exactly what I needed. Thank you again for all you did to help us in this very stressful situation!"

-- Sharon O.

Elderhaven Adult Day Center (DZ) Alzheimer's Care
The Elderhaven Adult Day Centers of Austin and Williamson County are the only licensed adult day programs in Central Texas. Our program is designed to provide respite for caregivers of vulnerable older adults. Elderhaven is open Monday-Friday, 7am-5:30pm with a nurse on staff 40 hours a week. In terms of attendance, we are very flexible and it would be our pleasure to host your loved one for as much or as little as your family requires. Our program offers the following: • Care and supervision for vulnerable adults by full-time nurse and other qualified staff, with an 8-1 ratio of clients to staff • Restorative exercise activities, including chair yoga and nature walks • Assessment by licensed dietitian and accommodations for special dietary requirements • Weekly music, art and pet therapy sessions • Fine art performances by local musicians, dancers and other performers • Other daily activities include bingo, games, movie screenings, field trips and arts & crafts. Austin Groups for the Elderly is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting the elderly, their caregivers, and their families. Besides Elderhaven, we have a number of other programs that may be interesting to caregivers. In particular, the Caregivers Resource Center provides information and referrals for families in caregiving situations on topics ranging from legal issues to communicating with your loved one as they age
